Heat. Pour 237g of water (1 cup) into a small saucepan and heat over medium heat.
Combine. Add in 250g of demerara sugar (1 cup) and stir occasionally until it dissolves. Don't allow it to simmer or boil!
Cool. Remove the pan from heat.
Store. Allow the mix to cool slightly, then store it in an airtight container.
Use. Store your demerara simple syrup in an airtight storage container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. You can also store it in the freezer for longer-term storage.
