Iced Blackberry Latte (Easy Coffee with Blackberry Syrup)
Lindsey Neumayer
This iced blackberry latte recipe is an inventive way to enjoy your morning lattes at home while infusing a big burst of berry flavor! It uses this homemade blackberry simples syrup to sweeten up freshly brewed espresso. While I prefer mine over ice, you can enjoy it hot, too!
Prepare a double shot of espresso using the method of your choosing, following the manufacturers instructions. Set it aside to cool slightly.
Fill your preferred glass with ice.
Pour in 1 ounce of blackberry simple syrup into a mixing glass.
Add 3 ounces of milk to the blackberry syrup.
Mix the blackberry syrup and milk well using a hand frother. Alternatively, use a wire whisk.
Pour the espresso over the ice.
Carefully layer the blackberry milk overtop the espresso.
Garnish with a couple berries on a cocktail pick and serve immediately.
FOR A HOT LATTE
Brew a double espresso according to your espresso machine’s manufacturer’s instructions. Place the espresso into a coffee mug that can hold at least 8 ounces of liquid.
Add the blackberry simple syrup to the milk of your choice, and froth it using a milk steamer. Alternatively, you can heat the milk and syrup mixture then use a hand frother.
Carefully layer the blackberry milk on top of the espresso.
Garnish with a blackberry on a cocktail pick, layered carefully on the foam, or add a dollop of whipped cream and blackberry.
Serve immediately.
Notes
Want to minimize dishes? You can pour all the ingredients into your glass if you don’t want to froth the blackberry foam!
