Equipment
1 jar or other airtight storage bottle
1 fine mesh sieve
Ingredients
60gramsmarshmallow peepsabout 6 peeps
8ouncesvodkasuch as Tito's, Absolut, or Kirkland Signature Brand
Instructions
Place 6 peeps candies into a jar or airtight container with a 16 ounce capacity.
Pour 8 ounces of vodka overtop the peeps in the jar.
Seal the jar tightly, and give it a good shake to fully saturate all the peeps.
Place your vodka in a cool, dark place for up to 24 hours. Shake it vigerously every 15 - 30 minutes to help the marshmallow break down into the vodka.
Once the peeps are fully dissolved, strain out any particles that didn’t dissolve.
Store your peeps vodka in an airtight bottle in the fridge for up to 6 months.
Notes
The eyes of the peeps don’t quite dissolve, so you’ll need to strain them out. Additionally, if there are any marshmallow chunks that don’t fully dissipate, you’ll need to strain those out, too. While alcohol is shelf-stable, and so are peeps, once you combine the two, the ABV of the vodka is lowered due to the sugar content. Because of this, it’s best to store your infusion in the fridge, especially if you plan to store it longer-term.
