Hi! I’m Lindsey. 👋🏻
A classically trained pastry school student turned K-12 school teacher turned professionally certified instructional designer turned culinary content creator.
What does a culinary content creator do?! I develop and write recipes for my blog and photograph and video the recipes I make.
I share creative, ingredient-focused beverage recipes for the home cook who loves entertaining!
Thank you for being here! 🥰
I first learned to cook and bake from my live-in-Italian-immigrant grandmother. I grew up with a dad who baked fresh bread regularly. My mom was always that one mom bringing homemade snacks to the classroom. And, even though it was before my time, my parents made their own wedding dinner when they got married!
Translation: Cooking and baking is a core part of who I am.
I am a classically trained baking and pastry student from a culinary college that partners with leaders in the Florida tourism industry.
Translation: I learned the ins and outs of baking and pastry arts from some of the best culinary professors in a top tourism destination.
I’m a former educator with nearly 10 years of experience working in the 8th largest school district in the nation (!!!) teaching critical and creative thinking skills. Since then, I have worked at Global Fortune 500 companies (like Walt Disney World) in the field of training and development. I have created, implemented, and facilitated training programs to thousands of individuals over the last 5 years of my professional career.
Translation: I know how to explain a step-by-step process to get the desired result!
When you’re looking for a classic recipe, you have a lot of options for rigid, by-the-book techniques. A Recipe for Fun is not that option. 😜 This is a place where you can learn about time-honored recipes and put your own spin on them. This is a place where we acknowledge tradition and reflect on “how things used to be” while turning it into something that makes you say, “Whoa!” 🤩
It is my core belief that fun is the best thing to have, so have it every day! Don’t hang a “live-laugh-love” poster on your wall. 😬 Don’t buy that “be happy” mug from HomeGoods (unless you truly love it). Instead, fill your spirit with inspiration, each and every day. Infuse moments of joy into your actions, no matter how small. Pour love into everything you do, even if it’s just for you. Can serving a soda or brewing a fancy coffee really do that? I THINK SO! 😛
This is a place where we are serving fresh and flavorful drink recipes, from breakfast to happy hour, that inspire, educate, and innovate.
At A Recipe For Fun, I aim to entertain you with a variety of beverages, from classic cocktails to reimagined twists.
Everything here is simply a guide that’s worked well for me, with a *bit* of rhyme and reason behind the recipe. Sorry, it's the educator in me. 🤓
Read about a kiwi mojito made with simple syrup instead of cubes of sugar and get curious. Sure, its unconventional, but wonder what else you can make using less traditional ingredients?! Get crafty with your cocktails, and mix up your mocktails.
Gone are the days of the grenadine-soaked Sprites floated with a sad lime. 🥺 Shake things up with virgin espresso martinis and candy corn sodas. Wow your guests with inventive takes inspired by classic stories and flavors.
Make each day your own, but if you need help staying inspired, well…that’s why I’m here! I’d be honored to serve as your guide on the side as you create your very own recipe for fun. 🥳
Think of cult classics like candy corn turned into a simple syrup!
Iced lattes are good, but strawberry iced lattes are great.
Everybody loves a mojito, but when's the last time you've been wowed by a passion fruit mojito?!
🔎 you can find me…
wrangling my semi-sweet pup, Gnocchi, surfing grocery store ads for inspo, feeding (and maybe whispering sweet nothings to) my sourdough starter.
🗑 my toxic traits...
forgetting to label my creations in the fridge, buying too much produce and freezing it right before it spoils, forgetting to label that spinach I froze right before it went bad.
🤩 I can't get enough...
cheese, trash tv, color-coding and categorizing everything, and connecting on social media--seriously, hit me up, and let's be BFFs! 🥰

Cooking and baking have always been a part of my life, from the moment my Italian grandmother taught me how to bake her world-famous cinnamon rolls. As a young teen, I cooked for myself and my family. After high school, I got a few jobs in local (and famous) Central Florida restaurants and later enrolled in baking and pastry school in Orlando, Florida. 👩🏻🍳
I loved pastry school (cookie class, anyone?!), but I wasn't certain I wanted a career in a hotel or restaurant, which were the two tracks available in the internship programs for my Pastry degree.
One of my favorite professors (Hi, Chef Mackie! 👋🏻) used to run a bed and breakfast in Vermont. She shared that teaching the art of pastry was a viable career path, and something clicked for me. 💡 I ended up becoming a teacher and.........worked in our local school district for nearly 10 years. 😬 I got swept up in my passion for working with students with learning exceptionalities, as someone with ADHD myself!
In my time as a teacher, I started a Disney blog as an outlet for fun. I loved it so much, that it inspired me to follow the fun and work at Disney full-time. I did so many things at Disney, from facilitating field trips in Magic Kingdom to assisting real estate agents with the sale of multi-million dollar homes in an actual neighborhood inside Walt Disney World. But then...the pandemic hit. 😳
I went back to school and got a Graduate Certification in Instructional Design. After graduating (again!) I got a job as an instructional designer creating courses for a Fortune 500 company...but something else was calling me...
I decided it was time to go all-in on my dream of making food and cooking my career because food has always been a constant in my life! 😛
Yes! I work full-time creating culinary content, and I work part-time as an instructional designer. No matter how hard I try, I cannot escape my passion for education! 🤗 Luckily, cooking and education come together perfectly with the art of food blogging!
When I'm not dreaming up new recipes or scouring cookbooks for inspiration, I'm out playing at Walt Disney World or sitting at home cuddling my pup, Gnocchi. 🐶
I love to read and learn, reorganize and redecorate our home, pick up a new craft, or zone out with my Nintendo Switch. Any Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley fans out there?!
