👩🏻🍳 teaching you the why behind the recipe, so you can go from following instructions to trusting your instincts.
A recipe for fun is all about flavor-forward cooking—because I believe that fun + flavor are essential ingredients for each and every recipe.
Whether it’s a show-stopping cocktail with a homemade simple syrup, an appetizer with layers of perfectly balanced seasonings, or a flavor-blasted take on a nostalgic classic, my goal is to help you make the best tasting recipes at home.
welcome to a recipe for fun, where every day is worth celebrating!
Hiiiiiii friend! 👋🏻 I’m thrilled you’re here. TRULY. 💕
Trust is super important to me, so I created this page to let you know how I roll when it comes to creating and sharing allllll of the tasty tidbits you see here on the site.
my promise to you:
🌿 from scratch & mindfully made. Nearly everything here is homemade. Because the best things in life (in and out of the kitchen) take a liiiittle time, and they’re so worth it.
✨ every day celebrations. I believe cooking is an experience, not a chore. Creativity should be cultivated and celebrated each and every day, and I’m here to help you do that!
🍹 better than you remember nostalgia. Yeah, sometimes I’ll use ingredients like Peeps candies and Girl Scout cookies to boost nostalgia, but I also love using fresh, unique, and seasonal ingredients to maximize flavor.
🍳 recipe development
I use my background as a classically trained culinary student to craft each and every recipe, but I also draw from my teenage days of watching Iron Chef ’til 3 a.m. Here’s how it happens:
📸 photography
All photos are styled and shot by me! The photos are of the real recipes, even the drinks (yes I use REAL ice, too)!
No faux food photo hacks like motor oil on pancakes or shaving cream as whipped cream. I pour my heart into making each shot as colorful, bold, and fun as the recipes themselves. Seriously, it’s my favorite part of creating every recipe.
Just a friendly reminder: all of my images are copyrighted, so pleeeeease don’t use them without asking first, okay???
💰 ads, sponsored content, & affiliate policy
This website has ads on it, because that’s how I make a living doing what I love! I try my hardest to prioritize the user experience here; I never want you to feel frustrated when navigating the site!
- display ads. Ads are served based on the unique user or reader, so the ads that are displayed change on a person-to-person basis. This means I’ll see different ads than you see, and you’ll see different ads than a friend you send a link to might see.
- affiliate link transparency. I do have and use affiliate links. If you shop through those links (which are always noted within the posts with the words “affiliate link” italicized), I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Think of it as tipping your chef! 👩🏻🍳
- no sponsored content. I’m not currently open to sponsored content; I’d rather focus on my own fleeting whims than a brand brief and office full of bosses.
👯♀️ comment policy & cultivating community
I LOVE hearing from you! Seriously, your comments, questions, and ideas make my day. Let’s keep this space inspiring and full of good energy.
- add value. The most useful comments share feedback and ratings, such as ingredient swaps you made or modifications that might help other readers. Anything that does not add value to the content will be deleted.
- I’m a real girl with real feelings. Like Pinocchio, I got no strings on me. 🎶 I’m a whole multi-passionate person running this site on my own. I can talk a big talk, but I’m a sensitive soul deep down, so please keep it kind.
😅 mistakes & updates
Hey, pobody’s nerfect! I write, edit, and publish every post myself, so mistakes can happen. 🥲
If you spot something that looks…off or if you have a question about a recipe, shoot me a message or leave a comment for me. I’m always happy to correct, clarify, or talk it out! Shout out to Karla for letting me know about an error in my crostini recipe, you’re the real MVP. 🏆
🤖 AI policy
I use AI as an organizational tool to help me prioritize, plan, and add systems to my life. As someone who is neurodivergent, it’s been a game changer in helping to stand in for my sometimes-lacking-executive-functioning-skills! I use tools like Grammarly and Notion, which also have AI features embedded in them. I never ask AI for recipe ideas, because frankly, ADHD gives me TOO MANY IDEAS. 😂 And as a reminder from the photography section above, all images of ingredients, process shots, and final recipes are of real food and drinks taken by me.
💌 let’s connect!
Got ideas, questions, or just wanna chat? Reach out anytime via email at [email protected]! Your feedback and suggestions inspire me more than you know. Blogging can be kind of isolating sometimes, so I absolutely LOVE hearing from people! This space is better because you share it with me. 🥹
