It’s A Wonderful Life, George Bailey…

…or at least it can be after a few of these cocktails!

The weather dipped below 70 in Florida, which means its winter…

…I mean it’s practically snowing here.

And when it gets to be *that* kind of winter, a small window of opportunity begins to open. The window of having hot spiked beverages!

Nothing gets me in the warm and cozy mood like a hot buttered rum on a chilly night. And when I think winter + cozy + holidays, I think of It’s A Wonderful Life.

Now I know, this movie is polarizing. You either love it, or it bores you to death. Black and white movies are hard for some folks to watch in the age of Netflix & Chill on demand. BUT…I happen to love the black and white version of this movie…a lot! There’s something so fun about trying to guess what color all the beautiful costumes might be, which the colorized version of the movie absolutely ruins for me. 😬

The Christmas Carol-like plot of a person being able to see their impact on the world around them is so nostalgic to me, especially around the holidays. And you know, perhaps even more in 2020, the idea of having that perspective is so important.

George Bailey’s life wasn’t anything like he pictured. He was going to travel the world! One setback after another kept him tied to boring old reliable Bedford Falls. However, it’s lucky for us that Bedford Falls is exactly where he finds his happiness, proving that sometimes everything you want is right in front of you.

What a message for a holiday season where we are literally stuck at home, huh?!

So…cozy up, get comfy where you are, and have a Bedford Falls cocktail while you’re here.  Because let’s face it, you’ll probably be here halfway into 2021 at the rate things are going!

The Bedford Falls has a mix of Coruba Dark Rum, Old St. Pete Spiced Rum, and Plantation O.F.T.D. Overproof Rum. There’s also some water in there. And whipped sugar & spice butter. Come on, didn’t I tell you it’s a wonderful life after all??
