Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In my glass, cocktails are glistening. A beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight. Sipping in a minter wonderland.
Wait…those aren’t the lyrics. Oh well.
When I think of Christmas, I think of all the flavors that come along with the holiday. Holidays and food go hand in hand in my book. Christmas is all about sweets and treats to me, and nothing says winter like the cool refreshing flavor of mint. Of course, it’s not the holiday season until you’ve got a mint cocktail in your hands!
While chocolate and mint are classic Christmas flavors, I wanted to play with something a little lighter for this mint cocktail.
That’s when I saw this White Chocolate Liqueur from Trader Vic’s! I knew it would be perfect paired with green creme de menthe for a light minty green cocktail that screams CHRISTMASTIME! Seriously, the color of this cocktail is very instagramworthy.
As for the flavor of this drink, it’s like a cool, creamy, melted candy cane.
Vanilla vodka plays up the delicate flavor of white chocolate, and almond milk adds a light creaminess to the mix. I tried making this first with heavy cream, and while it was also tasty, it was a bit too…heavy. I’m sure half and half would work nicely as well, I just preferred the lighter flavor of the almond milk. We use a blend from Trader Joe’s that features almond, cashew and macadamia nuts. This mint cocktail is perfect for after dinner, during dessert, or as a nightcap. Whenever you drink one, be sure to snap a photo to share!
